This is it.........2 days to go

Well as I have blabbed on a it, I have been training to race the National Time Trial Championship which is only 2 days away. There will be an Australian title up for grabs and I am ready to go.

Shane wont be coming with me as he is away with his daughters and a mate for the New Year period which makes it a bit challenging from the emotional side, but I have a girlfriend coming for emotional support and my father in law (Bill - ever reliable) will be there for mechanical and bike support and to drive my support car.

I have trained hard for about five weeks now, maybe nearly six, but five have been very constant and challenging and I am ready. Realistically I wont win, but I have the following goals:-
  • Not get to stressed on the day, be calm, this is familiar territory, I have time trialled a lot before
  • Enjoy the day (yeah right)
  • Ride to plan and warm up to plan and give it everything
I rode State Champs well finishing 28th of about 43 riders, so that is a baseline, but this is Nationals. I have other goals in my head like finish in the top half of the field! But seriously I have no major expectation other than to finish knowing I could not have gone any quicker.

My wheels are ready, my bike is clean, I am pumped and nervous (and it is still two days away).....It will be a fun day and to be competiting at an event at this level is awesome and will be a fantastic experience.

Thanks for the comments on the blog...will let you know how I went, and hopefully have some photos of the day.
